It’s September & the kids are back at school!
I somehow deluded myself into thinking that once summer came to an end, my world would just fall back into a slow-paced schedule. My world hasn’t been slow-paced since I birthed kid #4….3 years ago. I really thought I would get up, exercise, fix breakfast, get myself fabulously ready, get the kids ready & delivered to school, menu plan, grocery shop, run errands, do laundry, work in the garden, clean the flower beds, write a fabulous blog, have lunch with the hubby, play/read/educate my toddler, pick up 2/3 of the kids from school, start dinner, run a bible study for the kids, start the younger ones on homework, go get the other 1/3 of my school-aged children, all while maintaining an immaculate house, a smile & good hair.
Anyone who even remotely knows me is laughing right now. Mostly because they know that there is no way in the world that I smile about laundry or running errands for hours on end. They know that exercise is like a fantasy for me & that my hair is rarely ever cooperative. And they would realize that I have left a couple of items off that usually never happen as “planned” because my “plans” are almost always disrupted by some unforeseen force of nature/family/dog.
And while I’m used to reality crashing my “plans”, this September has schooled me in particular. I’d like to tell you that I have it all under control & completely pulled together, but then I’d just be lying to you. I hope you’ll come back & join me here as I share my world with all that works for me, what doesn’t, and the bumps & hazards along the way.
